Interpretation

Planet Star Lord and Sub-Lord

The three linked levels

KP interprets a planet through its own house position and ownership, its star lord's relationships and its sub-lord's role. The familiar description of planet as source, star lord as result and sub-lord as qualifier is a concise way of expressing the hierarchy.

  • The Source (Planet): The planet itself represents the source of energy or the entity pushing for an action, based on the houses it occupies and owns.
  • The Result (Star Lord): This is the golden rule of KP. A planet doesn't give results based purely on itself; it gives the results of its Star Lord (the lord of the Nakshatra it sits in). This dictates the actual nature of the outcome.
  • The Qualifier/Decider (Sub-Lord): The Sub-Lord acts as the ultimate gatekeeper. It qualifies how or if the result will manifest (favourable or unfavourable, success or failure).

The star lord's occupied and owned houses are central to the stellar reading. The sub-lord is examined for support or opposition under the chosen rule set. A generic favourable or unfavourable reputation attached to a planet is therefore insufficient for an event judgment.

  • Context over "Good/Bad" Planets: In traditional astrology, Jupiter is broadly seen as "benevolent" and Saturn as "malefic." KP completely rejects this generic labeling for specific event judgments.
  • The Reality of the Chart: If a "favourable" Jupiter sits in a Nakshatra whose Star Lord owns or occupies bad houses (like the 6th, 8th, or 12th), Jupiter will deliver negative results. Conversely, if a "malefic" Saturn sits in a star and sub-lord that strongly link to the 2nd, 7th, and 11th houses, it will smoothly trigger a marriage.

A house-link illustration

Suppose a planet occupies house 3 and owns house 8. Its star lord occupies house 6 and owns houses 2 and 10, while its sub-lord has a selected connection to house 11. An employment question can examine the stellar links to resources, service and profession, together with the fulfilment connection.

This is an abstract illustration of the relationships, not a calculated horoscope or a promise of a job. The primary cusp, complete significator structure and candidate period sequence remain part of the interpretation.

Why the question matters

The same planet can participate in different subjects because it carries several house relationships. A communication question and an employment question need different relevant connections. The sign's element, mode and morphology may qualify a description after those relationships are understood.
